Brent is a typical 12-year-old. He likes video games. He also likes sports and being outside.

“I like dirt bikes and I like football. Basketball is my favorite sport,” Brent said as he shot a basket.

Ashley Gipson, with Child Protective Ser-vices, said that Brent is usually outgoing. “Brent is not quiet at all. Usually he’s real talkative. How-ever, when Brent has his mind set, he is very determined.”

This 12-year-old boy prefers to be in a calm environment and enjoys doing simple things such as organizing and counting.

Ms. Gipson said, “He has a very low attention span. So for Brent, you are going to have to always keep him active.”

Brent enjoys attending school, but will need extra help with assignments. He would do best with a patient family willing to give him a lot of one-on-one attention.

“Brent needs a home that can provide him with a lot of consistency and constant routine at all times. He has to be reminded over and over at times about rules and just simple tasks to keep him on target,” Ms. Gipson said.

This young man has spent several years in foster care and wants to settle down.

“He’s tired of being moved. He wants a family that he can call his own that he knows tomorrow he’s not going to have to move,” said Gipson.

Having a permanent family will give him a sense of security as he enters his critical teenage years.
