Staff Reports

The Rev. Tom Saali, pastor of Cornerstone Church of the Assemblies of God in Tyler, was elected presbyter of the Tyler section of the Assemblies of God and began his duties Jan. 1, according to a written release from the church.

“Cornerstone Church feels highly honored to have their pastor elected to such a distinguished position,” reads the release.

The Tyler Section includes four counties: Smith, Wood, Van Zandt and Rains.

The presbyter serves in supervisory capacity to local assemblies, 28 in the Tyler section.

Other sections in the East Texas area are the Longview, Texarkana and Greenville sections.

The sections are responsible to the North Texas District Council of the Assemblies of God in Waxahachie.

Saali was pastor of churches in El Paso and Quanah prior to accepting the position in Tyler 18 years ago.
