NEW SPIDER NAMED FOR PRESIDENT OBAMA
A new species of spider has been named in honor of President Obama. The new species name, which we are not going to attempt to pronounce, is believed to be inspired at least in part by the fact that President Obama is a fan of Spiderman. Last week he was pictured in the White House playing with a young fan. Bono, magician Penn Jillette and civil rights activist César Chávez also have arachnids named after them.

SUPPORT SHINE YOUR LIGHT
The fifth annual "Shine Your Light" campaign is in full swing. The Tyler Morning Telegraph is asking all of us to donate to 9 different East Texas charities this holiday season to help others in need. You can read about one of them, Meals on Wheels, today in the Tyler Morning Telegraph and here on TylerPaper.com. Please visit the Shine Your Light link on the homepage of TylerPaper.com and donate generously. So far this month, more than $140,000 has been donated, and the campaign goal is $250,000.***

CHRISTMAS FORECAST
Today's Christmas Eve local weather forecast from the Tyler Morning Telegraph free mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android is for a sunny and windy day with a high near sixty-two. The low tonight will be in the forties, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Santa and the reindeer may have to make a few flight plan alterations!

Have a wonderful day and a very Merry Christmas!
