Candlelight vigil slated for Sunday

The community is invited to attend a candlelight vigil at The Children’s Park in Tyler in memory of the 20 children killed in last week’s shooting in Newtown, Conn.
“It’s the right thing to do,” executive director Jennifer Carson said.
The event will be at 6 p.m. Sunday. Candles will be lit and the names of the 20 children will be read aloud. Attendees also will sing “Silent Night” and a to-be-announced speaker will talk about grief, Mrs. Carson said.
