Bass, retired general to receive award

Mayor Barbara Bass, along with retired Maj. Gen. John T. Furlow of the U.S. Army and members of the Mayor's Veterans Roundtable, will receive a prestigious national award for their work to support the successful transition of men and women from the U.S. armed services into civilian life, according to a news release from the city.
The award will be given at 10:30 a.m. today at the Tyler Rose Garden Center, 420 Rose Park Drive.
