WESTWOOD INCIDENT PUTS SCHOOL ON LOCKDOWN
At a home where criminal activity is suspected, two individuals got into an argument and one fired a shot at the other, but did not hit him. The victim was then also bitten by a pit bull in the yard.
The suspected shooter left the area in a vehicle, but the dog bite victim ran from the area and wound up at Westwood Elementary School. Westwood Independent School District then locked down the schools.
As of eleven am, they were still on lockdown but were allowing parents to pick up their children if they wanted – and many have done so. Despite some conflicting media reports, at no time was there a shooter on any of their campuses. By noon, the lockdown had been lifted.
