Art gallery to feature fine arts jurists work
Gallery Main Street, 110 W. Erwin St., will feature the work of fine arts jurists who are responsible for selecting pieces that the gallery displays throughout the year, beginning on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.

"The Fine Arts Jury Exhibition" will feature artworks by Dana Adams, Joan Iverson, Maureen Killaby and Curtis Watson, who will be honored in a reception on Thursday. The exhibit will showcase both two and three-dimensional works, with mediums ranging from ceramics to oil paintings.

"The quality and execution of the art work for this show is truly spectacular," Gallery Curator Ashley Foxx said. "We encourage visitors to make a visit to Gallery Main Street as a part of their evening."

In addition to the art on display, Ms. Foxx added that singer-songwriter Maegan Brooks will provide musical entertainment, including a Christmas-themed playlist to add to the festive downtown atmosphere.

Five downtown museums will open their doors free to the public with historic re-enactors, refreshments, activities and special exhibits. The other museums open that evening are: The Goodman Museum, 624 N. Broadway Ave., Cotton Belt Depot, 210 E. Oakwood St., Discovery Science Place, 308 N. Broadway Ave., Smith County Historical Society Museum, 125 S. College Ave., and McClendon House, 806 W. Houston St.
