Tyler baby born on 12:12, 12/12/12

Parents can often tell you the exact time their children were born, but Eric and Salena Rozell will never have to think about what time their daughter Lily Scarlet 0was born, because she arrived at 12:12 p.m. on 12/12/12.

Parents can often tell you the exact time their children were born, but Eric and Salena Rozell will never have to think about what time their daughter Lily Scarlet 0was born, because she arrived at 12:12 p.m. on 12/12/12.
Lily was delivered via caesarean section at East Texas Medical Center Wednesday by doctors Nahille Natour and Sherilyn Willis.
A beaming Mrs. Rozell said because she was 39 weeks the birth was going to happen one day this week.
“They told us we could pick and we looked at the calendar and thought, how can we not pick 12/12/12,” she said.
However, the Rozells could not have known the new addition to their family of four would be born at 12:12 p.m.
“We got here this morning and they got me into the operating room and started at 12:03. Dr. Natour said it would be cool if she was born at 12:12, but she doubted it,” she said.
But the idea got the doctors and nurses thinking and they all acted quickly.
“They were bound and determined and Lily was born with 20 seconds left before the time was 12:13,” she said.
Rozell, a Tyler firefighter and paramedic, was ecstatic over his daughter's birth and some of his fellow firefighters showed up to hold Lily.
Lily's older siblings, Haley and Grayson were also on hand to welcome their sister into the world.
Haley said she had been waiting eagerly for Lily's arrival and was glad she was finally here.
ETMC Tyler Spokesperson Rebecca Berkley said two other babies were born on 12/12/12, but the Rozell's bundle of joy was the only one at 12:12 p.m.
But just down the road in Jacksonville another baby girl hit the mark with a perfect 12:12 p.m. 12/12/12 arrival.
Judy Martin, Jacksonville Dr. Charles Burk's office manager, said her doctor delivered a girl via caesarean delivery at the same time.
“He is a real numbers kind of guy and we try every year to induce one to hit at the right time. It doesn't happen very often, but we give it a shot,” she said.
Ms. Martin said in 2009 they had a baby born at 9:09 a.m. on 9/9/09.
“Both the little girl and mom is doing really well,” she said.
