Leads sought in possible Tyler crime scene

The Tyler police department is asking for help in a case that may have injured a person on Friday.

According to a news release from the department, officers responded to a call of multiple gun shots being fired in the 600 block of South Kennedy Avenue about 11:40 p.m on Friday.

Officers discovered a large crime scene between the 600 and 700 blocks of South Kennedy Avenue, with a blood trail leading to an apartment in the 700 block of South Kennedy Avenue, the release states.

Officers discovered a large amount of blood and bloody clothing inside the apartment, according to law enforcement officials.

Crime scene investigators were called to the scene, but as of Saturday, the department had not found the victim and his or her status is unknown. There were no suspects in custody, and the case remains under investigation.

Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case, or any, felony case.
