The students competed against more than 800 others for a spot in the Honors Band, Symphonic Band or Concert Band.
George Faber, TISD director of visual and performing arts, congratulated the students for the outstanding achievement, according to a district news release.
“Our middle school band directors worked incredibly hard to prepare their students for the competition, and I sincerely appreciate their dedication to our performing arts program,” he said, according to the news release.
More than 87 percent of TISD students participate in a fine arts program, according to the news release.
