5 Tyler homes featured in 'Holiday in the Pines'

The Tyler branch of the American Association of University Women is scheduled to present its “Holiday in the Pines” Home Tour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

Featured on the tour are: The Carnes Home, 2417 Pollard Drive; Clark/Ortiz Home, 5513 Westchester Drive; O’Toole Home, 7014 Walden Drive; Bugay Home, 3100 Lakepine Circle; and Clark Home, 4321 Madera Drive, according to the announcement.

The Bugay Home will showcase decor by French Peas flower shop. Miniature holiday and Alpine villages and Disney Christmas collectibles will be on display.

The Clark/Ortiz Home will feature antiques and Asian artifacts with decor by The Gipson Girl. Holiday touches will include a Christmas tree in teal and orange and beautiful wreaths. A collection of “Around the World” dolls also will be on view.

In the Carnes Home, the dining room will feature Mrs. Carnes’ wedding china and other fine accessories. FRESH by Brookshire’s will furnish the flower arrangement. The Christmas tree will display family mementos and ornaments collected from all over the world.

The Clark Home will showcase decor by The Gipson Girl. The home will display decorative Christmas items in shades of red and green. The Christmas tree will feature a collection of Santas and vintage elves.

Gold, green and red accents will be found throughout the interior of the O’Toole Home. Decorative accents and decor will be provided by Gipson Girl.

Tickets cost $15 and are available at any tour home.

The tour is a major fundraiser for Tyler AAUW.

Proceeds help fund scholarships that the chapter awards to women to attend Tyler Junior College, The University of Texas at Tyler and Texas College and the annual Expanding Your Horizons conference, which exposes middle school girls to women in careers involving math, science and technology, according to information from Karena Love, AAUW publicity spokeswoman.
