Bullard man faces drug, theft charges

A Bullard man was arrested this week for drug possession and theft.
Cherokee County investigators executed a search warrant on Sunday in the 300 block of Caroline Street in the Shady Brook Subdivision outside of Lake Palestine.
About 8:30 p.m., investigators learned that stolen property was kept at that location that was taken during several burglaries within the last month, according to a news release.
The 43-year-old man was charged with prohibited weapon, possession of marijuana and theft of firearm.
Bonds were not set as of Tuesday afternoon and more charges were pending from other burglaries and thefts, according to a news release.
Investigators continued the search Tuesday morning. Investigators from surrounding counties were contacted and came to see if property matched other thefts, according to a news release.
A second search warrant was executed at another location, where more stolen property is believed to be stored. No arrests were made at the second location as of Tuesday afternoon.
