Ola Fay Anderson
Ola Fay Crain Anderson, 76, of Tyler went to meet the Lord on Dec 1, 2012, in Tyler. She was born in Garland on June 12, 1936, to Grady and Leta Crain.
She had lived in Tyler since 1974. She and her husband owned and operated the O.D. Marble Co. She graduated from Overton High School as the valedictorian of her class. She attended TCU as an art major. After college she was a graphic designer. Ola and Bill lived in many different areas during his 20 year career in the Air Force. She worked some for Exum’s Art and Frame shop. She was a member of Pollard United Methodist Church , was a master bridge player and was also a very talented gardener, seamstress and artist. She would strive for perfection in life’s endeavors and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Ret. Lt. Col. Billy J. Anderson; and son, Billy Joe Anderson Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Dena Nichols and husband Keith of Sammamish, Wash.; sisters, Patsy Howell and Mike of Hideaway, Liz Smith and Ray of Whitehouse; and grandchildren, Ryan and Kyra Nichols of Sammamish, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Luna officiating under direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 12672 Silicon Drive, No. 105, San Antonio, 78249; or The American Lung Association, 8150 Brookriver Drive, Suite 102, Dallas, 75247.
