Tyler man faces manslaughter charge in death of Chad Davis

A Tyler man has been charged with a second degree felony after allegedly striking a man with a vehicle last month.

According to The Tyler Police, Justin Wayne Staples, 30, of Tyler, turned himself into police on Friday.
Staples was wanted in connection to the death of Chad Davis, 38, of Tyler on Nov. 23, who was struck by a car in a heavily wooded are off Blue Mountain Boulevard. Allegedly the two had been drinking when the incident occurred.
He is charged with manslaughter, a second degree felony. His bond is set at $100,000.
