Mary Pinyan
Graveside services for Mary Frances Totten Pinyan, 83, of Tyler, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Rose Hill Cemetery with Dr. John Robbins of Marvin United Methodist Church officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pinyan passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, in Tyler.
She was born Sept. 4, 1929, in Tyler to Lee and Lillian Hicks Totten.
Mary attended Tyler schools and graduated from Tyler High School and Tyler Junior College. She was a lifelong member of Marvin United Methodist Church and was a member of the Friendly Class and also attended the Susannah Wesley Class. Mary was a dedicated volunteer at Marvin United Methodist Church Welcome Center and had served on the Tyler Public Library Board. Mrs. Pinyan and her late husband were great supporters of Tyler Junior College and the Mary and Hollis F. Pinyan Scholarship fund at Tyler Junior College was established at Tyler.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hollis Pinyan.
She is survived by her cousins, Thomas Robinson and wife Molly, Edwina Bulman, both of Tyler, Christina and Elizabeth Bulman, both of Austin, and sister-in-law, Juanita Reedy, of Dallas. She was a special friend to many and will be missed. The family wishes to thank all of her loving caregivers.
