UPDATE: Man Who Died in Fatal Lindale Crash Identified
A Lindale man was killed and his wife taken to the hospital following a one-vehicle wreck north of Lindale Thursday evening.
Texas Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Jean Dark said the incident happened around 5:20 p.m. on Highway 69 North and County Road 4148.
Trooper Dark said the driver, 65-year-old Lonnie Williams, of Lindale, died in the crash and his wife, Mae Williams, 70, was taken to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, where she was listed in stable condition.
Trooper Dark said as of 8:30 p.m., troopers were still gathering information on what caused the crash and details were not yet available.
