Canton car show collecting toys for underpriveleged
Staff Reports

A Canton car show on Saturday will help put toys under the trees of underprivileged children in East Texas.

The show will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Old Mill Marketplace, Texas Highway 64 East in conjunction with First Monday Trade Days. All proceeds will benefit Toys for Tots.

Organizer Ronald Gorman, with R.G. Car Show Production, said he estimates between 100 and 200 cars will be in the show, but organizers will accept more until the start of the show.

Registration to be in the show is $30, plus an unwrapped toy for the organization, and includes two steak dinners courtesy of H&M Meat Company in Wills Point. Entry is free for the general public.

Raffle tickets will be sold at the event for gifts donated by local businesses, and there will be a 50/50 drawing with all the proceeds going to the toy charity.

Prizes for best in show in multiple categories and the drawing of raffle winners will begin after 3 p.m.
