1 dead, 1 critical after club shooting

The Tyler Police Department is asking the public for help finding Tyler man accused of being involved in a Monday morning nightclub shooting that left one man dead and another critically injured.

The department has issued a warrant for Marquel Jermon Scott, 32, of Tyler on one count of homicide and one count of aggravated assault. His combined bond has been set at $1.25 million, according to a statement from the department.

Tyler police spokesman Don Martin said the shooting happened about 2 a.m. inside the Hyena's Clubhouse, 2126 N. Grand Ave.

“We don't have a lot of information at this point, but investigators (are) continuing looking for people to talk to who may have witnessed the shooting,” he said.

Martin said while the reason behind the shooting is not known, Keeston Dwone Fields, 26, of Tyler, died from gunshot wounds, and John T. Woods, 33, of Tyler, remains in critical condition.
