NOT GREEDY, November 25
I resent recent letters suggesting the 51 percent of the people who voted for President Obama are greedy and were willing to go for the bribe. There are more people in poverty because the minimum wage has not increased due to inflation, thereby holding many people in bondage. It is so simple, raise the minimum wage and eliminate poverty.
During the 1950s and ‘60s, rates were far higher for capital gains taxes and corporate taxes, and our economy boomed.
By the way, what percent of the wealthy defend our country? It is mainly the middle class and the poor who serve in the military and give their lives for our freedom. Many of these veterans voted for Obama.
It was George W. Bush that called himself a “different kind of Republican,” a “compassionate conservative.” I believe this implied that others are lacking in compassion.
