UPDATE: Authorities call off search of Lake Palestine
UPDATE: The search has been called off. A lieutenant with the Noonday Volunteer Fire Department said 15 people searched and found nothing. No reports of overdue boaters have been made.

Firefighters were conducting a search operation on Lake Palestine after a report of a possible boater in distress, officials said.
A boater's flare was reportedly seen on the lake between the Westberry Landing and The Villages Marina in Flint.
Noonday and Dixie firefighters were involved in the search with the game warden called out to assist as well.
