UPS Store celebrates grand relocation
The UPS Store in Tyler has moved. The business is celebrating its grand relocation to 5380 Old Bullard Road, Suite 600, with special promotional pricing on shipping, printing and mailbox rentals throughout November. The UPS Store announced this week that it moved from its former location at 4828 S. Broadway Ave., to the new space by Ganache on Oct. 22.
“As a one-stop shop for shipping, mailbox rental, printing and business services, we look forward to continue serving the Tyler community through our new location with an all new look,” Owner Bill Lyons said. “Along with convenient access, easy parking, and 'hands full' automated door entry, the larger space at our new location enables us to offer expanded printing and small business services.”
Prior to purchasing their two UPS Stores in November, 2002, Lyons and his business partner, Jim Hinna, both worked at Southwest Airlines, bringing more than 35 years of combined experience in various management positions in finance, accounting and operations to The UPS Store. Their other UPS Store is in the Southpark Shopping Center, 1910 ESE Loop 323. The UPS Store hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

SOCIAL SECURITY
Starting Monday, Texas Social Security offices, including the one at 5509 S. Donnybrook Ave., will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday – a reduction of 30 minutes each day. Beginning Jan. 2, offices will close to the public at noon each Wednesday.
While agency employees will continue to work their regular hours, this shorter public window will allow them to complete interviews and process claims work without incurring overtime.
The reduced funding provided by Congress under the continuing resolution for the first six months of the fiscal year makes it impossible for the agency to provide the overtime needed to handle service to the public as it has done in the past, representatives said in a prepared statement.
In addition, all Social Security field offices will be closed to the public this Friday only so employees can focus on reducing backlogged workloads. Most Social Security services do not require a visit to a local office.
Applying for retirement, disability or Medicare benefits, signing up for direct deposit, replacing a Medicare card, obtaining a proof of income letter or informing the administration of a change of address or telephone are available at www.socialsecurity.gov or 1-800-772-1213.

The goal is to help give encouragement and purpose to job seekers by providing them the opportunity to earn a week's pay and help provide for their families during the holidays.
By joining Express in this effort, employers will gain a qualified worker and give the gift of employment to an individual who would otherwise not be working Dec. 10-16.

AgriLand Farm Credit named Brad Sims director of rural home markets in its Tyler corporate office.
Sims will head up the new rural home loan division, where he will focus on meeting the financing needs of custo-mers within AgriLand's territory. Sims, of Tyler, comes to AgriLand with 30 years of experience in comme-rcial ba-nking, where he wo-rked as branch manager and senior vice president.
AgriLand also welcomed Jennifer Morrison as mortgage loan officer in the Tyler lending office, where she will serve the rural home financing needs of borrowers in Tyler, Athens, Nacogdoches and Fairfield. Ms. Morrison, of Athens, joined AgriLand in 2010 as an agricultural loan officer.
Clay Bohan was named mortgage loan officer in AgriLand's New Waverly lending office, where he will serve the rural home financing needs of borrowers in the New Waverly and Beaumont territories. Boh-an, of Huntsville, joined AgriLand in 2010 as an agricultural loan officer.

Kilgore-based Martin Resource Management Corp., owner of the general partner of Martin Midstream Partners L.P., announced changes in management positions.
Donald R. Neumeyer, formerly president of Cross Oil Refining & Marketing Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of MRMC and executive vice president of the companies, has elected to retire after 30 years of service.
Neumeyer's retirement comes after serving MMLP as chief operating officer and in other business development roles.
The companies announced the appointment of Douglas Towns as vice president to assume the majority of Neumeyer's responsibilities.
Towns has more than 15 years in the lubricants business. He served as general manager of Koch Sulfur Products Co. and holds a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Kansas State University and a masters degree from the University of Houston.

On Wednesday, Brookshire Grocery Co. stores began the annual Spirit of Christmas Food Drive in its supermarkets.
About 150 stores will collect donations of nonperishable food items and team with a wide range of service organizations, food pantries and volunteers to distribute food to families who need assistance before Christmas.
BGC donates boxes in which to pack 20 to 30 pounds of food, donates coupons for a free hen, and sells scan coupons which go back to the partnering service groups to supply additional food needs.
The volunteer groups carry out the sorting, packing and distribution.
Customers can visit Brookshire's or Super 1 Foods stores for details on ways to help. BGC started its first food drive in 1982 in Tyler, with the Tyler-Rose City Kiwanis Club.
Last year some 500,000 pounds of food were collected and donated to more than 14,000 families in nearly 120 cities in BGC's tri-state market area.
In 2011, BGC donated more than 16,000 free hen coupons and 20,000 food drive boxes.
