Texas Fishing Report

NORTHEAST
ATHENS: Water clear, 64-68 degrees; 3.50’ low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged soft plastics and spinnerbaits around shallow cover. Some action reported on Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut shad.

BOB SANDLIN: Water clear; 65-69 degrees; 5.32’ low. Black bass are good on white spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits. Crappie are fair on jigs over brush piles. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair on trotlines with cut shad.

CADDO: Water stained; 65-69 degrees; 1.05’ low. Black bass are slow on Texas rigged soft plastics in green pumpkin. White and yellow bass are good on slabs. Catfish are good on cut shad. CEDAR CREEK: Water clear; 64-68 degrees; 3.39’ low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits around any shallow cover and docks. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are slow on live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

COOPER: Water clear; 64-69 degrees; 5.98’ low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged soft plastics and lipless crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut bait.

FORK: Water clear; 63-68 degrees; 4.21’ low. Black bass are slow on spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits. Yellow bass are fair on smaller spoons. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut shad.

LAKE O’ THE PINES: Water lightly stained; 64-68 degrees; 4.06’ low. Black bass are good on lipless crankbaits around grass and shallow cover. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on cut trotlines. LAVON: Water lightly stained; 64-69 degrees; 8.67’ low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged creature baits around shallow cover. White bass are good on slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on cut shad. MARTIN CREEK: Water clear; 63-68 degrees; 5.08’ low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits and crankbaits around shallow cover - midday switch to flipping soft plastics in the same areas. Crappie are good on jigs. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut shad.

MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 82-88 degrees; 0.88’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged soft plastics and black and blue jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on cut bait.

PALESTINE: Water clear; 63-68 degrees; 1.68’ low. Black bass are fair on black/blue jigs and Texas rigged soft plastics. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. White bass are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

RAY ROBERTS: Water clear; 63-68 degrees; 3.43’ low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged soft plastic baits along edges of grass. Lipless crankbaits are effective at times. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are good on prepared bait or live shad.

RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water clear; 63-68 degrees; 4.15’ low. Black bass are fair on flipping jigs around the docks. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs and live shad. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

TAWAKONI: Water stained; 65-69 degrees; 4.06’ low. Black bass are slow on white bladed jigs and flipping jigs around docks. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Striped bass and hybrid striper are good on white or shad pattern Sassy Shad in the deeper water when suspending during the day - drifting live bait is also producing. Catfish are good on cut bait and trotlines.

TEXOMA: Water clear; 63-67 degrees; 4.31’ low. Black bass are good on medium diving crankbaits along main lake points. Striped bass are good on slabs. Catfish are slow on cut bait.
