Palestine Mall playing host to garden club's tree festival

Dogwood Garden Club of Palestine will sponsor a "Festival of Trees" event at Palestine Mall, where organi- zations may decorate a tree with ornaments representing their charity.
Decorating will start after the trees are set up at 10 a.m. Nov. 30. Residents may vote on the trees starting Dec. 1 following a "Lighting of the Trees" ceremony from 3 to 5 p.m.
First, second and third place tree winners will be announced at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8 after the garden club's annual bazaar from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the mall.
The bazaar will offer homemade baked goods including cakes, pies, cookies, candies and jelly, plus arts, crafts and other items
The trees will be displayed at the mall until Dec. 27.
