Services for Nell Meador Wood, Tyler, will be Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Dr. Allison Thompson officiating.
Burial will be private.
Nell died Nov. 14, 2012. She was born in Tyler Jan. 5, 1922, to Tom and Ruth Meador. She graduated from Tyler High School. She married George R. Wood in 1939 and began her bookkeeping business. She loved her work and continued going to her office until she was 86 years old.
She lived at the Homestead where she served on the board of directors. She made many friends and enjoyed playing “42” at the club house.
Nell was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years; her brothers, T.R. and Jack Meador; and sister, Wanda Loving.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael W. and Linda Wood; sister, Bobbie Russell; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Robbie Meador; a special cousin, Frances Warnell; and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant Retreat United Methodist Church, 417 CR 1143, Tyler, 75704, where Nell was a lifetime member.
