TJC students working to make boy's wish come true
Staff Reports
A group of Tyler Junior College students is working to fulfill the dream of a 3-year-old Tyler boy.
Avian, the son of a former TJC student, has a life-threatening illness and wants to meet Mickey Mouse, according to a TJC news release.
Students in TJC Professor Don Blaine's business leadership class are raising money to help send him to Disney World.
The students want to raise $10,000 by Dec. 3 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas to help Avian and possibly another child experience their dreams.
The class is accepting donations of clothing and household items through Friday, according to the news release.
Drop-off locations are set up in the White Administrative Services Center and Wagstaff Gymnasium on the TJC main campus, 1400 E. Fifth St.
The items will be sold in a garage sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot at the corner of Palmer Avenue and Fifth Street.
