UPDATE: Aggravated robbery suspect arraigned

Kendall Lucas was arraigned by Jacksonville Municipal Judge B.K. Menefee late this morning.
Lucas’ bonds were set at $200,000 each on three aggravated robbery charges, $150,000 each on three unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon charges, and finally $1,500 on a charge of hindering a secured creditor.
The hindering a secured creditor charge is unrelated to the investigation into the string of armed robberies.
The Jacksonville Police Department would like to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation. The numerous tips received were instrumental in positively linking Lucas to these robberies and ultimately to his capture, according to a statement from police.

A man who tried to run from law enforcement remained in jail Thursday accused in at least three aggravated robberies.
Kendall Deshun Lucas, 26, faces aggravated robbery charges and charges for unlawful possession of a firearm, Jacksonville police Detective James Oden said. He is expected to be arraigned this morning.
The arrest comes after various efforts to locate Lucas, who allegedly was involved in an Oct. 14 robbery at CJ's Quick Stop, 613A E. Rusk St.; an Oct. 22 robbery at J & J Food Mart, 1512 S. Jackson St. and an Oct. 23 robbery at J & J Food Mart.
Since the robberies, authorities developed information positively linking the 26-year-old to the crimes, Detective Greg Compton said Wednesday.
He said Jacksonville police, with assistance from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and the Tyler FBI office, were sent to an address in eastern Jacksonville about 6 p.m. Tuesday in an effort to capture Lucas.
Lucas apparently found out authorities were approaching and fled on foot, officials said.

Compton has said Lucas was chased into a wooded area across Loop 456, and a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter was called to check the area from overhead. But after about an hour, the helicopter was unsuccessful in locating him.
In the meantime, Compton has said tracking dogs were brought in and were able to set up a trail from the last point Lucas was seen in the wood line.
However, the dogs ultimately lost his scent about 10 p.m., so the search was called off, he said Wednesday.
Officers eventually located Lucas in an apartment complex in southeastern Jacksonville shortly after midnight Thursday, Compton said in a news release.
He said Jacksonville police, Cherokee County Sheriff's dep-uties and agents from the Tyler FBI Office surrounded the location, and officers then entered the apartment and found Lucas inside.
Lucas, a convicted felon who was on parole for burglary, was taken into custody without incident.
