UPDATE: Multiple robberies suspect remains in jail; arraignment set for Friday

A Jacksonville man who tried to run from law enforcement remained in jail Thursday accused of being involved in at least three aggravated robberies.
Kendall Deshun Lucas, 26, faces aggravated robbery charges as well as unlawful possession of a firearm charges, Detective James Oden said. He is expected to be arraigned tomorrow morning.

Officers were able to locate Kendall Lucas in an apartment complex in southeast Jacksonville shortly after midnight. Jacksonville Police Officers, Cherokee County Sheriff Deputies and agents from the Tyler F.B.I. office surrounded the location, according to Jacksonville Police Det. Greg Compton. Officers entered the apartment and located Lucas inside. He was taken into custody without incident. Lucas will be arraigned later today.

Jacksonville police on Wednesday were working with the FBI to locate a man who was allegedly involved in at least three recent aggravated robberies.
One of those robberies occurred Oct. 14 at CJ's Quick Stop, 613A E. Rusk St.; another occurred Oct. 22 at J & J Food Mart, 1512 S. Jackson St., and J & J Food Mart was robbed again Oct. 23.
Since the robberies, authorities developed information that positively links 26-year-old Kendall Deshun Lucas to the crimes, Detective Greg Compton said.
He said Jacksonville police, with assistance from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and the Tyler FBI office, were sent to an address in eastern Jacksonville about 6 p.m. Tuesday in an effort to capture Lucas.
Lucas apparently found out authorities were approaching and fled on foot.
Compton said Lucas was chased into a wooded area across Loop 456, and a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter was called to check the area from overhead. But after about an hour, the helicopter was unsuccessful in locating him.
In the meantime, Compton said tracking dogs were brought in and were able to set up a trail from the last point where Lucas was seen in the wood line. However, the dogs ultimately lost his scent about 10 p.m., so the search was called off, he said.
Lucas is a convicted felon on parole from burglary and has an active parole warrant for him as well as a misdemeanor warrant. That's in addition to him being wanted for the robberies.
Jacksonville/Cherokee County Crime Stoppers and the Tyler FBI office were offering a reward for information leading to Lucas' capture and conviction.
Compton said Lucas was considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who located him should contact the Jacksonville Police Department at 903-586-2546 or the Tyler FBI office.
He said authorities believed Lucas is still in the Jacksonville area.
He was described as about 5 feet, 6 inches or 5 feet, 7 inches tall, about 180 pounds with numerous tattoos.
