Body found in storage trunk in Van Zandt County

Van Zandt County authorities and Texas Rangers are at a scene north of Wills Point where a body has been found inside a storage trunk on the side of the road.

Van Zandt County authorities and Texas Rangers are at a scene north of Wills Point where a body has been found inside a storage trunk on the side of the road.
Sheriff Pat Burnett said the discovery was made earlier today. He confirmed there is a body in the trunk, which he described as something that could be used as furniture.
“I will say it is not a baby, but we are not releasing any details as of gender or age at this time,” he said.
Burnett said the trunk was located on Farm-to-Market Road 47 about four miles north of Wills Point.
“My office and the Texas Rangers are out working the case and investigating the scene and collecting evidence at this time,” he said.
