USS Altamaha shipmates to host 25th reunion in Tyler this week
Shipmates of the USS Altamaha will gather for their 25th reunion in Tyler this week.
The reunion will be headquartered at the Holiday Inn South Broadway Avenue Wednesday through Saturday, the announcement said.
The group is scheduled to tour the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden, Historic Aviation Memorial Museum, Oil Museum in Kilgore and American Freedom Museum on the campus of The Brook Hill School, the announcement said.
“I am very proud of Tyler and want to show these old friends and shipmates some things they have only heard about but never thought they would ever see,” Bob Wood of Tyler, one of the organizers, said in a prepared statement.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau in Tyler is assisting with the event.
