Texas fishing report

NORTHEAST
ATHENS: Water clear, 69-73 degrees; 3.40' low. Black bass are slow on Texas rigged soft plastics and spinnerbaits around shallow cover. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are slow on prepared bait.

BOB SANDLIN: Water clear; 68-74 degrees; 5.13' low. Black bass are good on white spinnerbaits and shad pattern shallow crankbaits. Crappie are good on jigs over brush piles. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are fair on trotlines with cut shad.

CADDO: Water stained; 69-74 degrees; 1.01' low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged soft plastics in green pumpkin or watermelon red. Black and blue flipping jigs are working as well. White and yellow bass are good on slabs. Catfish are good on cut bait and trotlines. CEDAR CREEK: Water clear; 69-74 degrees; 3.15' low. Black bass are good on topwaters and spinnerbaits around any shallow cover. White bass are fair on slabs. Hybrid striper are slow on live shad. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

COOPER: Water clear; 67-73 degrees; 5.54' low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged soft plastics. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut bait.

FORK: Water clear; 67-72 degrees; 4.11' low. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and small swimbaits shallow around stumps. Yellow bass are slow on smaller spoons along creek channel bends in deeper water. Crappie are good on minnows around bridge columns. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

LAKE O' THE PINES: Water lightly stained; 68-73 degrees; 4.04' low. Black bass are good on white/chartreuse spinnerbaits around wood cover. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on cut shad. MARTIN CREEK: Water clear; 63-74 degrees; 5.02' low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits and crankbaits around shallow cover — midday switch to flipping soft plastics in the same areas. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

PALESTINE: Water clear; 67-72 degrees; 1.61' low. Black bass are good on black/blue jigs and shakyheads around docks. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs. White bass are slow on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water clear; 68-72 degrees; 3.83' low. Black bass are good on white spinnerbaits around docks at the mouths of creeks. White bass are fair on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs and live shad. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

TAWAKONI: Water stained; 69-74 degrees; 3.82' low. Black bass are fair on white bladed jigs and flipping jigs around docks. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Striped bass and hybrid striper are fair on white or shad pattern Sassy Shad in the deeper water when suspending during the day — drifting live bait is also producing. Catfish are fair on cut bait.

WRIGHT PATMAN: Water lightly stained; 68-72 degrees; 3.46' high. Black bass are fair on hollow bodied frogs and Stanly Ribbit buzzfrogs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs.
