2-vehicle wreck leaves 1 dead
LINDALE - One person died in a two-vehicle wreck Tuesday night on Interstate 20 west of Hideaway, near mile marker 551, Department of Public Safety officials said.
Senior Trooper Joseph Birt said two vehicles were involved in the accident that occurred just inside the city limits of Lindale.
Trooper Richard Hoover said an 81-year-old Lindale man was driving east in the inside westbound lane of the highway in a Toyota truck, before colliding head-on with a Ford F-250 truck.

Birt said four people were in the Ford truck - two men, one woman and an 11-month-old who were taken to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. Hoover said the vehicle was registered in New Mexico and officials believe its occupants were headed to the state.
The 81-year-old man died at the scene. As of 10 p.m., officers were working to notify next of kin.
DPS and Lindale Fire were on the scene. The wreck blocked westbound lanes of Interstate 20 Tuesday night, and traffic was diverted onto the shoulder.
