Trinity Mother Frances announces partnership to expand pediatric care access
Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics officials Monday announced a partnership with Children's Medical Center in Dallas.
The partnership will allow pediatric patients and their families to have access to services available through Children's without having to travel.
Mother Frances officials said about 35 percent of pediatric patients needing hospital care are sent to Children's Medical Center each year.
The two hospitals have worked together for years, but the formal collaboration will increase services available through Children's including staff training, telemedicine, recruitment of physicians and access to specialized services such as pediatric urology.
The partnership has been in planning stages for more than one year and officials from both entities expect services to become available within the next month.
