Voters in Tyler, Precinct 2 overlap able to vote on Propositions 1, 2
Staff Reports
Two alcohol propositions are before voters inside the Tyler city limits and Justice of the Peace Precinct 2. Voters in both Tyler and Precinct 2 will decide Proposition 1, which would expand the sale of “mixed beverages in restaurants by food and beverage certificate holders only.”
Voters in both areas also are considering “the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only,” which means customers would be able to buy a six pack of beer or a bottle of wine in designated retail locations and take the beverages home.
Voters inside the area where Tyler city limits and Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 overlap will be able to vote on Propositions 1 and 2 in both jurisdictions.
Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 includes unincorporated areas surrounding southern and west Tyler, Flint, Noonday and Bullard. The precinct also comes inside the city’s limits from south of Toll 49 near Flint, portions east of Texas Highway 155 to the west side of Broadway Avenue to Loop 323. The precinct then expands from between Highway 155 and Robertson Avenue east to Texas Highway 110 north to Fifth Street.
A small finger of the precinct runs along the west side of Broadway Avenue north to Houston Street.
