Symphony League honors Representative Berman
The Women’s Symphony League of Tyler, as part of its observance of Texas Arts Advocacy Month, recently honored state Rep. Leo Berman of Tyler with its WSL Distinguished Patron of the Arts Award for 2012, member Joyce Hudnall said.
The award was presented to Berman at a WSL’s membership Meeting at Liberty Hall on Oct. 25. The day was officially proclaimed by the city as Leo Berman Day in Tyler.
The proclamation noted that because of Berman’s efforts to enhance the cultural quality of life, the Women’s Symphony League has been able to achieve its purpose of supporting the East Texas Symphony Orchestra and music education.
Amy Cole is Women’s Symphony League president.
