Tyler library to begin morning music series
Tyler Public Library official are starting a special series of musical mornings for preschoolers.

Symphony Stories are to be shared at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 7 through Nov. 9 and Nov. 12 in the Library's Taylor Auditorium, 201 S. College.

The stories, co-sponsored by the Women's Symphony League of Tyler, are designed to introduce preschoolers to the world of classical music through stories, films and student musicians, Tyler Librarian Mary Vernau said.

Select student musicians from local student orchestras are expected to share their skills and music with the youngsters.

The lineup includes: Nov. 7 and 9, Tyler Youth Orchestra under the direction of Gloria Williams; Nov. 8, East Texas Christian Academy, director Otto Harry; and Nov. 12, Brook Hill School Orchestra, director Jamie Reason.

“This opportunity is a great preview to the special family-friendly length concert performance of Cirque de la Symphonie by the East Texas Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at the U.T. Tyler Cowan Center,” Ms. Vernau said in a prepared statement.
