Lindale man arrested for September robbery

In collaboration with several federal agencies, the Lindale Police Department arrested a man wanted for a September aggravated robbery of a Lindale bank.

Lindale police said the robbery occurred Sept. 12 at the Capital One Bank on South Main Street.

An arrest warrant for 44-year-old Anthony Rios, of Lindale, was granted after Lindale police and the FBI conducted a search of a home just outside Lindale and found evidence in a 2003 Toyota Celica, and in the home, Sgt. Chad Mceleya said in September.

Following the incident, officers believed Rios left the country to go to the Philippines.

On Thursday, the officers and FBI agents went to DFW International Airport, according to a statement released by Lindale police.

With the assistance of U.S. Customs agents, Rios was arrested as he got off an an airplane arriving from the Philippines.

Rios was processed in Grapevine and taken to the Smith County Jail.
