Dogwood Jamboree show set for Palestine
The Dogwood Jamboree will present the show “Autumn Country” at 7 p.m. Saturday at Palestine Civic Center as part of the city's Hot Pepper Festival.

The show, produced by Dan Manuel, will feature classic country music — Branson-style.

Performers will include the Coleman Brothers of Longview, a blue grass group; and the Sowell Family Pickers of Houston, a family of six performers ranging in age from 6 to 16.

Other performers will include Sissy Perry, Shelia Wheat, George Lester, Mike Kellogg and Joe Hancock.

The duo Yesteryear, consisting of Cecil Crutcher and Jim Orr, also will perform.

Three artists will compete in the Dogwood Jamboree youth talent search, with the winner advancing to the talent search finals as part of the Dec. 8 Christmas show.

Tickets will be $15 at the door and $12.50 in advance. Advance tickets can be purchased at several Palestine locations, including Dogwood Diner, Cavender's Boot City, Hometown Pharmacy and Bishop's Brisket House, or by calling 903-729-7080.

The show is free for children age 5 and younger.
