AAUW to hold Game Day at Hollytree Club
The Tyler Branch of American Association of University Women will hold its annual Games Day on Wednesday at Hollytree Country Club, in Tyler, said information from member Kristi Roberts

Games Day is set from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the clubhouse, 6700 Hollytree Drive, Tyler. The cost to participate in the fundraising event is $35 and includes lunch.

Participants will be able to play an assortment of table games such as bridge and mahjong and in a silent auction bid on items provided by businesses and AAUW interest groups, the information said.

AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research.

The proceeds from the Games Day luncheon will help fund the chapter’s educational endeavors, which include awarding scholarships to students in Smith County area high schools and women obtaining a college degree.

This year, four $1,500 scholarships were awarded to young women from local high schools and Tyler Junior College.

Today AAUW group boasts has more than 100,000 members in 1,300 branches and in 500 college and university partners.
