Prestige Estates showing exhibit of formal gowns
Prestige Estates, 6928 Paluxy Drive, is presenting an exhibition of formal evening and show gowns, that continues through today said JoAnne McMeans, the senior living center’s community liaison.
The exhibition includes some of the lavish costumes worn by ladies-in-waiting in Texas Rose Festival Rose Queen Coronation ceremony in past years, she said.
Also on view are several formal gowns that have been worn by contestants in the evening gown competition of the Miss Texas Senior America Pageant.
Several women from the Tyler area have competed in the pageant that celebrates physical fitness, talent and community involvement in older women.
The gowns are on view from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today in the lobby. Admission is free.
Prestige Estates is an assisted living facility for seniors that offers various levels of care.
The facility has been sponsoring the gown exhibit for several years.
