Art League holds fall show during festival
The Tyler-based Palette of Roses Art League holds its annual Fall Art Show in conjunction with the Texas Rose Festival.

The show opened on Thursday and continues through today in the Mayfair Building on the East Texas State Fairgrounds.

Show hours today are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

It is a judged show that is open to League members who compete for cash awards and recognition.

The Palette of Roses Art League is a nonprofit organization providing a forum for artists to interact and educational and scholarship opportunities. Meetings take place the third Thursday of the month (except in the summer and in October) at 7 p.m. at Atria Willow Park, 3500 S. Vine Ave., says information posted on its website.

Meetings are open to the public and feature a demonstration from an area artist. Membership is open to all who live in Smith County or a county that borders Smith County.
