Women’s group event slated for Hollytree
The Tyler branch of American Association of University Women will hold its annual Games Day on Oct. 24, at Hollytree Country Club, in Tyler, according to information from member Kristi Roberts.
Games Day will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $35 and includes lunch.
Participants will play table games and, in a silent auction, bid on items provided by businesses and AAUW interest groups, according to the information.
AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research. The proceeds from the Games Day will help fund educational endeavors, which include scholarships for Smith County area high schools and college women.
This year, four $1,500 scholarships were awarded to young women from local high schools and Tyler Junior College.
