Discovery Science Place fundraiser set
Discovery Science Place, 309 N. Broadway Ave., will hold its first Monster’s Ball fundraiser Oct. 27.
The event for adults is set from 8 p.m. to midnight and includes a costume contest, music from a band, food from ZaZa’s and creepy attractions, LaDawn Fletcher, development director, said.
Tickets cost $45 in advance and can be ordered from the museum’s website, discoveryscienceplace.org. Tickets will be $50 at the door.
Guests will receive the frights of learning of a secret monster making program at Discover Science Place, organizers said.
“A variety of tricks, treats and spectacles await everyone who attends,” according to the information from Ms. Fletcher.
The event will benefit the children’s museum that features exhibitions highlighting aspects of science, technology, engineering and math.
Currently on view is “Attack of the Bloodsuckers!,” an exhibit exploring creatures, such as mosquitoes, that bite humans — and why.
