Tyler police seek cop impersonator for theft

Tyler police are seeking a woman impersonating a police officer Sunday evening.
According to authorities, about 8:10 p.m., a woman presented herself as a police officer to a man parked near the vacuums at a car wash at 5030 Texas Highway 31 West.
She presented a badge that led him to believe she was a police officer and said she was either going to search his car or he would be arrested, according to a news release. During the search, she stole a few items.
She is described as white woman in her 40s, about 5-foot-5 and about 130 pounds. She left in a dark-color compact vehicle.
Anyone with information about the woman involved is asked to contact the Tyler Police Department, 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers, 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).
Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any felony case.
