Formal gown exhibit open to public

Prestige Estates, 6928 Paluxy Drive, is holding an exhibition of formal evening and show gowns, said JoAnne McMeans, the senior living center’s community liaison.
Prestige Estates, 6928 Paluxy Drive, is holding an exhibition of formal evening and show gowns, said JoAnne McMeans, the senior living center’s community liaison.
The exhibition includes some of the lavish costumes worn by ladies-in-waiting in Texas Rose Festival Rose Queen Coronation ceremony, she said.
Also on view are several formal evening gowns worn by contestants in the evening gown competition of the Miss Texas Senior America Pageant Several women from the Tyler area have competed in the pageant that celebrates physical fitness, talent and community involvement in older women.
The gowns are on view from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily in the lobby through Oct. 21. Admission is free.
