Expo returns, will provide free health screening
The 11th annual Senior Health and Living Expo will provide free health screenings, information and entertainment for senior citizens on Oct. 24.

“There are a few (vendor) booths left and we expect around 1,200 to attend,” Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce Chief Operating Officer Henry Bell said Friday.

The Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the free event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 24 at Harvey Convention Center, 2000 W. Front St.

More than 75 exhibitors have signed up to showcase their goods and services to attendees. There will also be gift card giveaways for participants.

Celebrating its 11th year, Senior Health and Living Expo is the oldest of three events the Chamber puts on for seniors. Seniors Celebrating Life, which offers workshop sessions, has been an annual event for six years and was held in March, while the Senior Symposium, an educational conference, was hosted in Tyler for the second time in August.

Executive sponsors of the Senior Health and Living Expo include Atria Willow Park/Atria Copeland; The Clairmont/Colonial Tyler Care Center; Copeland Insurance Group; East Texas Medical Center Regional Health Care System; Encompass Home Health; Eye Care Associates; Heart to Heart Hospice; Jordan Health Services; Scott & White Health Plan Senior Care; Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals & Clinics; and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler.
