Downtown music fest set Saturday
Staff Reports

Come out today and celebrate the silver anniversary of Tyler’s Festival on the Square, featuring a Texas music group Whiskey Myers, along with Charlie Robison, Jon Wolfe and The Bigsbys.

Gates open at 5 p.m. in downtown Tyler’s T.B. Butler Fountain Plaza.

“We have a fantastic line-up ready to entertain those who love live music and a great party,” Main Street Director Beverly Abell said in a statement. “We expect anywhere from 2,500 to 3,000 people to come to Downtown Tyler Saturday to enjoy live music and the great atmosphere you can only find at an event like this.”

Organizers expect The Bigsbys to take the stage around 5:45 p.m., followed by Jon Wolfe at 7 p.m., Charlie Robison at 8:30 p.m. and Whiskey Myers at 10 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased at the gate for $25 each.

Proceeds benefit the City of Tyler’s Main Street Department, which relies on the event to generate the bulk of its annual budget.

Officials said the event would not be possible if not for volunteers. For more information, visit www.FestivalontheSquare.com or call 903 -593-6905.
