UPDATED 3:20 p.m. - MIAMI (AP) — Officials say a construction worker has been rescued after a parking garage collapsed in Miami, but another worker is still trapped in the rubble.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Capt. Louie Fernandez said Wednesday that getting the construction worker out is going to be a long, tedious effort because there is tons of debris around the person.
One worker was killed in the collapse on the campus of Miami-Dade College, and several other workers were injured.
The five-story parking garage was nearly complete when part of it crumbled to the ground.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE - MIAMI (AP) — A section of a parking garage under construction at a Miami-Dade College campus collapsed Wednesday and a fire official said some workers were trapped in the rubble.
Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue Lt. Arnold Piedrahita told WSVN-TV that some workers could be heard calling for help inside the rubble shortly after the multistory garage caved in. It was not clear how many were trapped.
"We need to find out where the people are. We can't just start digging through concrete," he said.

Television reports also showed several workers being treated by paramedics at the scene.
Authorities said no students were in the area at the time.
Victoria Buczynski of Miami said she saw the collapse while she was working at Gurkha Cigars directly across the street from the construction site.

"It fell to the ground like a house of cards," Buczynski said. "The construction workers started running out, screaming. It was loud. Our entire building shook."
The construction of the garage looked almost completed on the campus in the western part of the county. TV reports showed one large section of the concrete structure collapsed.
