UPDATED: Man allegedly assaulted by father with lawn mower blade

Tyler police arrested a man accused of slicing his son's arm open with a lawn mower blade on Wednesday morning.

According to police, Kyan Campbell, 26, of Tyler and his father Darron Campbell, 51, of Tyler, were working together doing lawn maintenance at Borden Milk Products, 805 W. Front St., when the two got into a physical fight.

The fight resulted in Darron Campbell allegedly striking his son with a lawn mower blade across the arm, slicing it open.

Kyan Campbell was driven by a private vehicle to the emergency room at Trinity Mother Frances – Tyler, where officers were called at 8:46 a.m., police state.

Officers located the father and arrested him on site. He has been charged with aggravated assault family violence, a third degree felony, and was booked into the Smith County Jail.

Tyler police are on the scene where a man was allegedly assaulted by his father who struck him with a lawn mower blade.

Don Martin, department public information officer, said the victim is telling officers his father assaulted him with the weapon at their workplace at Borden's on Front Street.

Police on the scene said they have found a large amount of blood and are calling for a crime scene unit.
The victim's condition is not known at this time.
