Tyler ISD Foundation leaders to speak at Chicago conference

Tyler ISD Foundation leaders will represent the organization at a national conference this week.
Gay L. Smith, the TISD Foundation board of directors president, and Larry Goddard, the foundation's executive director, will be the keynote speakers for the session, “Increasing Alumni Donations: The Future of Public School Districts,” at the American Schools Foundation Alliance conference in Chicago, according to a news release from the foundation.
Goddard also will speak about the “Ten Dollar Club” for employee giving, a program that he and TISD Deputy Superintendent Cecil McDaniel developed more than four years ago, according to the news release.
The TISD Foundation exists to raise funds and give those funds back to the school district through programs that support and recognize students and teachers.
The foundation was foun-ded in 1990.
