UPDATE: One injured in Tyler shooting on Turner Street
Tyler police are responding to a reported shooting in the western area of the city that injured one person.
The incident happened shortly before 2 p.m. in the 900 block of Turner Street, officials said.
According to police, the incident unfolded after a car stopped in front of a home at 907 Turner St. and the occupants began talking with several people sitting on the front porch.
Police spokesman Don Martin said at some point in the conversation, someone in the car pulled out a gun and fired at one of the people on the porch, striking one man in the arm before fleeing.
The victim, identified by police as Chris Crockett, 28, of Tyler, was transported to a Tyler hospital with what authorities describe as non life-threatening injuries.
Authorities are searching for the suspects, last seen driving an older model white sedan, possibly a Mercury Marquis.
